The 8th legislature of the European Parliament (EP) showed that there is a high demand for constructive industry expertise. At the General Assembly in Cernobbio, Ceemet presented its 10 Point Plan for a competitive industry sustaining social Europe as a reference for what Europe’s Tech & Industry Employers believe are the 10 biggest challenges the (new) MEPs and incoming European Commission will have to deal with.
The 10 Point Plan describes topics that require a horizontal approach. This explains why at this early stage, Ceemet seeks to exchange and discuss with the newly (re)elected MEPs.
The overall aim is building a diverse network of advocates amongst the MEPs, with a particular focus on the EMPL, ITRA & INTA committee.
Ceemet represents the metal, engineering and technology-based industry employers in Europe, covering sectors such as metal goods, mechanical engineering, electronics, ICT, vehicle and transport manufacturing.
Member organisations represent 200,000 companies in Europe, providing over 17 million direct and 35 million indirect jobs.
Ceemet is a recognised European social partner at the industrial sector level, promoting global competitiveness for European industry through consultation and social dialogue.
